Hatebreed - I Will Be Heard

Again I chose a simple riff that sounds really awesome. Hatebreed are one of my favorite bands because of their brutal and simple riffing, and the fact that they're hardly having any complicated stuff in any song, but still they sound killer.
I Will Be Heard is from their second album; Perseverance, that was realeased in 2002 by Universal. It was produced by Matt Hyde. It goes in around 95 BPM.

Mastodon - Oblivion

Today I chose the song Oblivion, the opening track for Mastodons latest album Crack The Skye, which was released in 2009 by Reprise Records. I chose this riff because of it's simplicity and epicness. I mean what another riff only uses two notes. C and C#. And it sounds real good!

Avenged Sevenfold - Unholy Confessions

Main Riff

 Harmony Part

This is one of my favorite metalcore riffs of all time. Pretty simple, straight forward basic metalcore. The song is from their second studio album "Waking The Fallen", which was produced by Andrew Murdock and Fred Archanbault, released in 2003 by the label: Hopeless. This song goes in about 190 BPM.

Kiss - God Of Thunder

All right, so here's the first riff for this blog, a simple old classic; Kiss - God Of Thunder, from the album "Destroyer" released in 1976 by Casablanca Records. The masterpiece was written by Paul Stanley, and produced by Bob Ezrin, whose children, David and Josh Ezrin are actually heard on the song as the children in the beginning of the song.
